About

I’m 40, have been competing in Duathlon for 8 years and have always dreamed of completing the Ironman. Well as a birthday present to myself I completed one in Idaho. I trained for 40 weeks, learned how to swim and did a few shorter triathlons in the process.

I started training after my job the technology industry led me to travel all over the world. I found that all the business dinners added about 30 pounds and an unhealthy feeling. I completed my first race on a dare with a buddy and found that hey I really like this sort of thing. Within two years I was competitive enough to place in my age group.

I’m married, and I have 4 kids, ages 3-11 and work fulltime as a sales and marketing professional. Training was hard — training with a family is even harder.

I learned how to train efficiently — how to get the most out of every second of the time I had to workout. I learned a lot about nutrition and my body. I learned about rest too. Maxmimizing my workout is an understatement.

This blog is a place to share with you what I’ve learned. If you’ve done a Triathlon or even an Ironman, you know the sense of achievement. If you just want to stay in top condition so you can continue triathalons, you’ll find stuff you can use here too. If you want to do an Ironman, keep reading.
