Are you a Balanced Triathlete?
There is a new book out, that’s causing quite a stir in the business world. It’s called 4 Hour Work Week. As an amateur triathlete, the idea of working 4 hours instead of 50 or 60 is intriguing. However, it’s important to realize, that unless our priorities are straight, we tend to fill up whatever time we do have with stuff. Stuff that isn’t taking us towards our goals.
We all have roles — maybe we have a job, a spouse, children, and various community and social responsibilities. Decide which of these roles are our priorities. Are there ways you can incorporate one role into another? I often take my kids in the Bike Trailer when I go for long rides — with frequent stops at the park and a final stop for ice cream.
Once you know what you want, you’ll be able to set a path toward what is really important in your life. Simpleology: The Simple Science of Getting What You Want is a great book that can point you in the right direction. Set your life up as a race. Don’t get sidetracked, and keep moving forward, enjoying the ride along the way.
